Alison Bissell

Alison Bissell is Director of Dukes Plus Consultancy, which includes Dukes Tutoring and Dukes Education’s university consultancy brands. As an education consultant since 2012, Alison has advised thousands of families on their educational journey, specialising in competitive university entrance and academic decision-making for KS4 onwards. Holding a degree in Maths and Philosophy from Oxford University, Alison works directly with STEM students and university applicants; she has guided hundreds of applicants to achieve offers to Oxford, Cambridge, Imperial and many others. Alison is passionate about identifying and nurturing each child’s unique academic personality, to bring clarity and focus to their educational plans. As the former head of the university consultancies Oxbridge Applications and A-List Education, Alison integrates her appreciation of higher education requirements, to ensure our students turn their attention to the right things at the right time. Alison’s personal academic interests span formal logic, the philosophy of mathematics, and abstract algebra. She also holds an MBA and serves as an Independent Governor at her former sixth form college.

I recommend this book to students in Key Stage 5 who have an interest in the foundations of mathematics.
