Bhavna Patel

With 25 years of Primary Teaching experience, plus Montessori Teaching experience I have taught young children how to read and write in English, by using a comprehensive phonics program. I have taught older children creative writing and how to use interesting vocabulary in their work to challenge and extend them further. I enjoy teaching English and Maths as well as other subjects in both KS1 and 2. My lessons are fun and engaging and I will assess how you are progressing and plan lessons accordingly.

Experience

Bhavna has successfully tutored a wide range of students from various independent, schools including Fairfield Prep School, Loughborough Amherst, Loughborough Grammar and Ratcliffe College. Having taught in a primary school setting, they are experienced in working with children with a range of profiles including dyslexia, EAL, SEND. They have taught international children with very little spoken English, developing their speaking language acquisition, teaching phonics and how to read and write. Bhavna is proud to have supported students working towards SATs and 11 plus. Bhavna is a qualified Montessori teacher and uses the Montessori philosophy in her daily teaching. She has served as an LECT delegate, representing UK teachers in Canada to compare education systems. Her report was presented to governors at a Birmingham school, and her article was published in Education Now magazine.
