I am a qualified teacher (QTS) with a PGCE from Homerton College, University of Cambridge, and almost 30 years of teaching and school leadership experience in both the UK and internationally. Throughout my career I have taught a wide range of humanities and English subjects across Key Stage 3, GCSE, IGCSE, AS & A Level and the International Baccalaureate, alongside leadership roles including Head of English, Headmaster, and Director of Professional Development. I believe every student learns best when they feel supported, challenged and encouraged to think independently. My lessons are engaging, well-structured and tailored to each learner's needs, combining high expectations with a positive and encouraging approach. Whether preparing for public examinations or building confidence in a subject, I focus on developing deep understanding rather than simply teaching to the test. I have extensive experience preparing students for GCSE, IGCSE, AS & A Level and IB examinations across multiple exam boards and particularly enjoy helping students who have lost confidence in a subject. My aim is to help every student achieve their academic potential while developing the skills, resilience and curiosity that will benefit them far beyond their examinations.
