I am an experienced educator, mentor and coach who has worked in director, management and team leading roles, with young research analysts in NGO and consultancies for the past 20 years. I have an MA(Oxon) in Economics and Management, an MPhil (Oxon) in European Politics and Economics and a PhD in European Politics and International Relations from the University of Athens. I have taught IB Economics at an international school in Athens, on UK tutoring platforms, and through international revision courses. I currently teach Economics A Level (all major exam boards) and IB, and International A Level Business. My strength lies in simplifying difficult terms and concepts with accessible, everyday examples that make sense to the students. This helps them understand complex topics, which can seem overwhelming, and boosts confidence. What I usually get is “Aah, now I get it!”.
Elli's teaching experience includes having worked as an IB Economics teacher in an independent, international school in Athens, as well as in private tutoring platforms in the UK, and International Economics revision courses (Oxford Study Course). She currently teaches Economics (both A Level and IB across all major exam boards, including AQA, Edexcel, OCR, and Cambridge) as well International A Level Business and Politics (Pearson and AQA). This interdisciplinary combination of Politics, Economics and Business allows her to transmit practical understanding to pupils, which facilitates their learning. She has also worked as a university lecturer for 2 years, at the University of Thrace, teaching government and politics. She has successfully prepared students for their 11+ exams (Maths, Verbal Reasons, Non-verbal Reasoning and English), who subsequently received offers from top secondary independent schools. Her 11+ success schools are Highgate, Mill Hill, The Perse, Stephen Perse. Her teaching style is approachable and detailed, with a strong focus on repetition, precision, and exam technique.
