Esmaa

I am an experienced British-qualified teacher, Deputy Head, English Lead and professional tutor with over eight years of tutoring experience and more than seven years of classroom teaching across both UK and international British schools. I have worked with pupils aged 4–18, supporting them in Primary English and Mathematics, SATs preparation, GCSE English, History, Religious Education and Economics. I also have extensive experience supporting pupils with a range of additional learning needs, including Dyslexia, ADHD and Autism, adapting my teaching to ensure every learner feels supported, engaged and able to reach their full potential. I believe every child learns differently, so I tailor every lesson to the individual learner. My teaching approach focuses on building confidence alongside academic success by identifying gaps in understanding and helping students become independent, resilient learners. I create engaging lessons where students feel challenged, supported and encouraged to think critically rather than simply memorising answers. As an experienced school leader and classroom teacher, I have an in-depth understanding of the English National Curriculum, assessment and how pupils make progress. I regularly use formative assessment to adapt my teaching, ensuring every lesson builds on prior learning and meets each student's needs. Whether I am helping a child master reading and writing, or supporting a GCSE student with examination technique, my aim is always to help students enjoy learning and achieve their full potential. I work closely with families, providing regular feedback and clear guidance so parents feel fully involved in their child's progress. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing a student grow in confidence and realise what they can achieve.

Experience

Esmaa is a highly experienced British-qualified teacher, Deputy Head, Curriculum Manager, English Lead and professional tutor with over seven years of classroom teaching and leadership experience alongside more than eight years of tutoring pupils aged 4–18. She has taught in both the UK and international British schools and has extensive experience delivering personalised one-to-one tuition across Primary, KS3, GCSE and A Level. Alongside her leadership responsibilities, Esmaa has successfully supported pupils in Primary English and Mathematics, SATs preparation, GCSE English Language and Literature, GCSE History, GCSE Religious Education, GCSE Economics and A Level Politics. She designs bespoke learning programmes that address each student's individual strengths, knowledge gaps and learning style, helping them build confidence while achieving excellent academic outcomes. As Deputy Head, Curriculum Manager and English Lead at The British School of Alexandria, Esmaa has led curriculum development, teacher coaching and assessment across EYFS, KS1, KS2 and KS3. She successfully introduced and embedded the Talk for Writing approach across the entire school, from Early Years through to Key Stage 3, transforming the teaching of writing and supporting a consistent, high-quality literacy curriculum. This whole-school initiative was recognised during the school's recent British Schools Overseas (BSO) inspection, highlighting the impact of her leadership on teaching and learning. Her expertise extends to literacy development, reading, writing, grammar, spelling and curriculum design, giving her an excellent understanding of how pupils progress throughout their education. Esmaa's tutoring philosophy focuses on helping students develop a deep understanding of concepts rather than simply preparing for examinations. She combines high academic expectations with patience, encouragement and strong relationships, enabling pupils to become confident, independent learners. She has extensive experience supporting pupils and works closely with families to provide regular feedback, tailored strategies and ongoing guidance to maximise each student's progress.
