I am a fully qualified Chemistry teacher with experience teaching in a high-performing grammar school and delivering personalised one-to-one tuition. I pride myself on delivering energetic, engaging lessons that encourage curiosity, build confidence and make even the most challenging scientific concepts accessible. I firmly believe that students learn best when they enjoy the learning process, so my lessons combine enthusiasm, high expectations and clear explanations to create a positive and supportive learning environment. Whether a student is aiming to strengthen their confidence, improve their GCSE or A Level performance, or deepen their understanding of science, I tailor every lesson to their individual needs and learning style. My focus is on developing genuine understanding rather than rote memorisation, using effective revision strategies, exam-style practice and regular retrieval to help students become independent learners and achieve their full academic potential.

Experience

Gabriel is a fully qualified Secondary Science teacher and Chemistry specialist with experience teaching at Highworth Grammar School, where he has taught Science and Chemistry across Key Stages 3–5. He has extensive experience supporting students of all abilities, using adaptive teaching strategies to improve confidence, deepen understanding and raise attainment. His GCSE Chemistry cohort achieved the highest average grade within the department, reflecting his commitment to high-quality teaching and academic excellence. Alongside his classroom teaching, Gabriel has worked as a tutor since 2021, delivering personalised one-to-one tuition to students studying KS3 Science, GCSE Combined Science, GCSE Chemistry and A Level Chemistry. His lessons are carefully tailored to each student's individual goals, combining strong subject knowledge with effective revision techniques and exam preparation to maximise progress and build lasting confidence. Gabriel has particular experience supporting students with SEND and believes that every learner can succeed when teaching is adapted to their individual strengths and needs. He builds positive relationships with both students and parents, creating a supportive environment in which learners feel comfortable asking questions, developing resilience and reaching their full potential. In addition to his academic work, Gabriel has significant pastoral and safeguarding experience through his appointment as Head of Year and Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead, as well as his roles as a Safeguarding and SEND Governor and an Independent Fostering Panel Member. These responsibilities have strengthened his communication skills, professionalism and ability to understand the wider needs of young people, qualities that further enhance his work as a tutor.
