Jamie

I am an Artificial Intelligence and Philosophy student at King's College London with over five years of experience supporting students in Mathematics through both one-on-one tutoring and classroom teaching. Having achieved a Grade 9 in GCSE Mathematics and an A* in A Level Mathematics, I understand the academic demands students face and enjoy helping them develop the confidence and problem-solving skills needed to succeed. My lessons are tailored to each student's individual needs, breaking down difficult concepts into clear, manageable steps while developing strong mathematical reasoning and effective exam technique. Whether a student is aiming to build confidence, improve a predicted grade or achieve the highest marks, I create a supportive and engaging learning environment that encourages independent thinking and lasting understanding. I am patient, approachable and genuinely enjoy helping students discover that mathematics can be both accessible and rewarding.

Experience

Jamie is an experienced mathematics tutor with over 250 hours of one-on-one tutoring, supporting students studying GCSE Mathematics, GCSE Science and A Level Mathematics. He has worked with students across a wide range of abilities, including those aiming for Grades 8–9 at GCSE and A/A* at A Level. Jamie focuses on building genuine understanding rather than memorisation, helping students develop confidence, mathematical reasoning and effective exam technique through explanations tailored to each learner. Alongside private tutoring, Jamie worked as a Class Assistant at Kumon East Finchley, where he supported students in Mathematics and English programmes while working closely with instructors and parents to monitor progress and encourage independent learning. Jamie has also worked as a Teaching & Learning Assistant at Acland Burghley Secondary School, supporting Key Stage 3 students within the classroom. This role strengthened his ability to communicate complex ideas clearly, adapt to different learning needs and maintain a positive and engaging learning environment.
