I am an experienced Primary teacher and tutor, specialising in KS1, KS2, KS3, and 11+ English and Maths, with extensive expertise in supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN). Throughout my teaching career, I have worked both in the UK and internationally. Alongside my classroom teaching experience, I have successfully supported students in 11+ preparation, helping them develop the English and Maths skills required for competitive entrance examinations. My SEN training and practical experience have enabled me to work effectively with a wide range of learners, adapting my teaching approach to suit each student's individual needs and learning style.
Melisa holds a Master's degree in Special Needs, a PGCE, a Bachelor of Arts in Classical Studies & English, a qualification in Korean Language Studies, and an additional MA from University College London. Melisa spent several years teaching at leading international schools in Bangkok, where she served as a Key Stage 2 Leader and taught pupils across a range of junior year groups from Year 3 to Year 6. Prior to this, she taught in London primary schools as both a Year 3 and Year 6 teacher, giving her extensive experience across the Primary curriculum and a strong understanding of the key academic and developmental transitions that children encounter throughout their education. Melisa is passionate about helping students close knowledge gaps, develop self-belief, and reach their full potential. She creates engaging, personalised lessons that encourage learners to thrive, whether they require Primary curriculum support, SEN-focused tuition, or preparation for competitive school entrance assessments.
