Sheamol

I am a Cambridge graduate and experienced tutor specialising in Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics and Computer Science. I have been tutoring since 2023 and have worked with over 90 private students, supporting students from GCSE, university applications, competitive entrance examinations and undergraduate level tutorials. My teaching is centred on developing genuine understanding and independent problem-solving rather than relying on memorisation. I aim to make lessons rigorous but accessible, encouraging students to explain their reasoning, identify patterns and apply concepts to unfamiliar problems. For competitive examinations, I place particular emphasis on exam technique, efficient problem-solving and working accurately under time pressure. At undergraduate level, I take a more collaborative approach, helping students work through complex technical problems independently while providing the guidance and practical insight needed to take their projects further. I also bring professional engineering experience to my teaching through my work as an Industry Professional on InvestIN's Young Engineering Programme, helping students connect academic STEM subjects with their practical applications and future careers.

Experience

Sheamol is an experienced private tutor who has worked with over 90 students since beginning tutoring in 2023. His experience includes supporting undergraduate engineering projects involving areas such as aerodynamics, drone design and computational modelling, with an emphasis on developing rigorous methodology and helping students work independently through complex technical problems. He has extensive experience supporting students applying to Oxford and Cambridge, including preparation for the TMUA and ESAT, university interviews and personal statements. His approach combines subject knowledge with structured exam preparation, helping students identify weaknesses, develop efficient problem-solving strategies and build confidence with unfamiliar problems. He is experienced with the AQA, Edexcel and OCR examination boards, as well as the International Baccalaureate and French Baccalaureate. Alongside his private tutoring, Sheamol works as an Industry Professional with InvestIN on their Young Engineering Programme. Drawing on his academic and engineering background, he helps students explore engineering through practical applications and gain insight into the skills and thinking used in professional engineering environments.
