I am an experienced teacher, SENCO, inclusion specialist and mentor with more than 12 years’ experience supporting children and young people from EYFS to KS4 in the UK and internationally. I specialise in SEND, inclusion, learning differences, study skills, and helping pupils build confidence and independence. My teaching is inclusive, supportive and neuro-affirming: I believe pupils learn best when their strengths are recognised and learning is adapted to their needs. I take time to understand how each pupil learns, then use clear modelling, structured activities, targeted interventions and practical strategies to help them make meaningful progress. Alongside teaching, I have held SENCO and leadership roles across primary, secondary and independent settings, giving me extensive experience in supporting pupils with SEND, working with families and professionals, and developing effective intervention programmes. My MSc in Psychology and specialist SENCO training strengthen my understanding of learning, wellbeing, mental health and neurodiversity. I particularly enjoy helping pupils who have lost confidence to recognise their strengths, develop effective strategies, experience success, and build the organisation, resilience and independence they need to thrive as learners.
Siobhan is an experienced teacher, SENCO, inclusion specialist and mentor with more than 12 years’ experience supporting children and young people from EYFS to KS4 in UK and international educational settings. She has worked in primary, secondary and independent schools, as well as in higher education, and has held SENCO, inclusion, leadership and teaching roles in the UK, Thailand, the Czech Republic and Dubai. She currently works as a self-employed SENCO consultant and freelance teacher, advising schools on SEND provision, intervention planning, assessment and strategic SEN development, while delivering bespoke teaching and interventions for pupils with SEND. She also works as a Specialist Mentor in Mental Health at a UK university, helping students develop organisation, time management, academic confidence and engagement. In previous whole-school and primary SENCO roles across independent and state schools, Siobhan developed SEND systems, managed EHCP processes and Local Authority referrals, organised access arrangements, delivered targeted interventions and supported staff to build adaptive, inclusive practice. Internationally, she has contributed to founding school teams, established whole-school inclusion systems, delivered individual and group interventions, led parent workshops and promoted inclusive practice across school phases. Her approach combines practical teaching experience with an academic background in psychology and specialist SENCO training. She works collaboratively with parents, teachers, schools and other professionals to ensure pupils receive appropriate, individualised support. She has also taught students preparing for Cambridge International examinations.
