With over 20 years’ experience as a KS2 class teacher, I bring a wealth of classroom expertise to my tutoring while enjoying the opportunity to work with pupils on a more individual level. My teaching approach is calm, structured and tailored to each pupil. I believe children achieve their best when they feel confident, supported and appropriately challenged. Every lesson is adapted to meet each child’s needs, using clear explanations, modelling, thoughtful questioning and plenty of encouragement. I aim to develop independent learners who can tackle unfamiliar problems with confidence and think critically about their work. As an 11+ tutor, I focus on building secure subject knowledge, strong reasoning skills and effective exam technique. Lessons are engaging and purposeful, combining regular retrieval of prior learning with opportunities to apply new skills through increasingly challenging tasks. I continually adapt my teaching to ensure pupils make steady progress while enjoying the learning process. I tutor all four core 11+ subjects, with a particular passion for English. Strong reading underpins success across the curriculum, so I encourage pupils to read widely and think deeply about what they read. As an avid reader, I am always happy to recommend books that broaden vocabulary, strengthen comprehension and inspire even reluctant readers. Above all, I want every pupil to leave each session feeling more confident, ready to embrace challenge and equipped with the skills they need to succeed, not only in the 11+ but throughout their education.

Experience

Tiffany is a professional tutor with over 20 years of teaching experience in both the United Kingdom and the United States. She has taught across the primary age range in independent education, with extensive experience preparing pupils for the 11+ and senior school entrance. She spent eight years at Dolphin School, an independent day school in London, where she taught Year 5 and Year 6 and guided pupils and families through the transition to senior school. She later joined The Cor Deo School in the United States as a Fourth Grade Teacher before being appointed Lead Campus Administrator for the Upper Campus, a role equivalent to Deputy Head in the UK. In addition to teaching and pastoral care, she audited curriculum and mentored fellow teachers. Alongside her prep school teaching, Tiffany also taught English through to age 14, giving her a strong understanding of the literacy skills pupils need as they progress into secondary education. Drawing on more than two decades of classroom experience, Tiffany understands that successful 11+ preparation is about far more than teaching to the test.
